This guide explains how to troubleshoot device detection issues, camera calibration errors, unit setting changes, and machine parameter problems that may occur after upgrading to LightBurn 2.1.0. Follow the steps below to restore normal operation and ensure accurate processing performance.
After upgrading LightBurn to version 2.1.0 and reopening the software, you may encounter the following issues:
A software logic bug in the newly released LightBurn 2.1.0 update causes certain configuration files and user profiles to migrate incorrectly.
If your machine profile has disappeared from the device list in the bottom-right panel, click the "Find My Laser" or "Create Manually" button to rediscover and re-add your machine to restore communication.

If the machine exhibits control or processing issues (for example: setting the jog distance to 10mm, but the laser head actually moves 70mm), the unit system has likely been altered.
Click the Wrench icon (Device Settings) in the top toolbar. Locate the Control Units section and change it back to your original preference (typically mm/min or mm/sec).

Adjust the "Link Control and Design Units" toggle based on your workflow:

Because internal controller settings may have changed, you need to flash the factory-fresh machine parameters:
Contact the ONELASER after-sales technical support team, state your machine model, and request the official standard factory parameters file.
Go to Machine Settings in LightBurn, click Load from File to import the file, and then click Write to save these settings directly to the motherboard.
Note: If you had any personalized or custom adjustments prior to the update, you will need to reconfigure them manually after writing the factory file.

After importing the standard factory parameter file, the laser tube types are generally calibrated automatically. However, to rule out any anomalies, you should manually double-check the configuration:
Scroll down to the Laser Settings section and locate Tube 1 Type and Tube 2 Type to confirm their classifications. Example: For the Hydra GEN1, Laser 1 should be configured as a Glass Tube, and Laser 2 should be configured as an RF Tube.

To verify which tube is mapped to each setting, navigate to Menu > Alignment on the machine's control panel. You can manually toggle between Laser 1 and Laser 2. Press the Pulse button to fire a test beam. Observe the hardware directly to see which laser tube fires during the pulse test for each selection.

This problem occurs more frequently on Mac systems
Upon launching version 2.1.0, LightBurn will display a pop-up warning stating that your camera configuration file is from an older version and will ask Do you want to convert and import it into the latest format?
Please click Yes to allow the software to import the file.

To eliminate any conversion drift, open the Camera Calibration wizards. Follow the on-screen step-by-step prompts using your original alignment pattern to recalibrate and ensure precision.
